Dr M V Sangaranarayanan is Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras. He obtained his Ph D from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship. He was a Scientist at the Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, before joining IIT Madras. He handles physical chemistry for B Tech and electrochemistry and irreversible thermodynamics for M Sc students. His research work is in the field of electrochemistry; he has to his credit 90 papers in national and international journals of repute and has earlier co-authored a book, Non-equilibrium Thermodynamics–Principles and Applications.
Dr V Mahadevan retired as Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras. He has more than 30 years of experience in teaching B Tech and M Sc students. He obtained his Ph D from the Madras University and then went to the North Western University for a post doctoral stint. On his return, he joined IIT Madras where he worked till his retirement. He took a sabbatical and worked in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Texas, Austin. He has to his credit over 100 publications in reputed refereed journals in polymer chemistry, chemical kinetics and bioorganic chemistry; during the course of his career, he has guided over 20 research scholars for their doctorates.
