The launch of Towards a Critical Medical Practice: Reflections on the Dilemmas of medical Culture Today, edited by Dr Anand Zachariah, R. Srivatsan and Susie Tharu, took place at the IIC (Annexe), on 25 February 2011.

The constant everyday work of doctors, translating knowledge and experience to address a local situation and do justice to an individual patient remains largely invisible and undervalued in modern medicine. This book has authors theorising this practice that they hope will open up new directions in healthcare and medical education. Here, Dr Veena Shatrugna, speaks on the book.
